Kathy Casey is celebrated as a frontrunner chef - paving the way for the emergence of women chefs and Northwest cuisine on a national level. Casey was one of the youngest executive chefs and one of the first female executive chefs in the United States.
Kathy Casey Food Studios® is her namesake 6,000-square-foot culinary playground, where she and her associates give rise to the food, beverage, and concept development that has garnered wide acclaim for her restaurant and retail clients. Located in the heart of Seattle, Kathy Casey Food Studios also offers cooking classes and is available for special events and corporate teambuilding functions.
Casey and her cuisine have been featured in numerous national publications, including USA Today, People Magazine, Food & Wine, Food Arts, The San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, and the Boston Globe. A frequent TV guest, Casey has appeared on shows such as Good Morning America, TV Food Network’s Unwrapped, The Larry King Show, CBS This Morning and The Travel Channel’s Taste of America. You can also catch her on Northwest TV programs and on PBS.
When not in the kitchen or on the set, Casey pens the monthly column, “Dishing,” for the Seattle Times. An accomplished food writer, she has authored Pacific Northwest: The Beautiful Cookbook, a Julia Child Cookbook Awards nominee, and co-authored Best Places Seattle Cookbook. Her most recent volumes are Dishing with Kathy Casey, Kathy Casey Cooks Favorites, and Star Palate. Her new book Kathy Casey’s Northwest Table will be released this fall with Chronicle Books.
Casey also is co-owner of Dish D’Lish™ gourmet stores and cafes featuring “Food t’ Go Go™” with multiple Seattle locations, including the new Central Terminal at Seattle’s Sea-Tac Airport. In addition, Kathy’s line up of over twenty Dish D’Lish retail products has been buzzing since its introduction; the specialty food items range from Cocktailor™ mixers to chutneys, spreads, seasonings, and sauces. Dish D’Lish products are available online and at gourmet food and grocery stores.
As a trend-setter and a savvy spotter of what’s hot on the culinary and cocktail scene, Casey often speaks and writes on food and beverage trends. Creative beverages and classic cocktails continue to show growth in restaurants and hotels worldwide, and Kathy Casey has already made a name for herself through her signature cocktail creation and development.
Casey has served as a spokesperson for The Heart of Washington, promoting Washington agricultural products, and is serving as an ambassador for The American Heart Association’s “Go Red” campaign.
