The “Pear Panache Season 4” 2009 Chef Recognition Program is open to any US citizen, over the age of 18, who is currently employed as a chef or bartender.
Complete the online entry form at www.pearpanache.com/form.php. Entries must be submitted in English. Multiple entries in various categories are allowed.
Deadline for entry is Friday, July 31, 2009.
Online entry form must be submitted as described above no later than July 31, 2009. Incomplete or illegible entries will not be accepted.
A complete entry will contain a recipe of your own creation that includes fresh USA Pears as a primary ingredient. USA Pears must be present as a portion of the recipe’s composition at the discretion of the entrant. (Baked, sautéed, juiced, sliced, pureed… the possibilities are endless!) Entries with recipes that do not contain fresh USA Pears will be disqualified.
All eligible entries will be reviewed by a panel of qualified judges who will consider recipes based on the following criteria:
All decisions by the judges are final, binding, and non-disputable.
Pear Panache will recognize the seven chefs/bartenders who are able to show the most flair with a pear. Winners will receive $1000 along with national promotion and media opportunities, as presented.
Qualified entrants will receive a pear prize package, based on availability, which includes a pear slicer and pear recipe cards. Entrants will only receive one prize package.
Any and all federal, state and local taxes (including any income and withholding taxes) on total prize values are the sole responsibility of the winners. All prize details are at USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest’s sole discretion.
By submitting an entry, each entrant grants permission for USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest and its designees non-exclusive rights to use his/her name, recipe entered, restaurant name, city, state, photograph, voice, performance, and/or other likeness and any resulting prize information for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without further compensation, in all media worldwide and on the Internet, in perpetuity, without notice or review or approval or fee if the entrant’s recipe is selected as one of the top seven winning entries.
USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest and its respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against any liability for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind, including death, to persons, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the contest, including any travel or activity related hereunto.
USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest and its respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, stolen, inaccurate, misdirected, or undelivered entry materials; or errors or problems of any kind whether human, printing, typographical, mechanical, or otherwise relating to or in connection with this contest, including errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the contest, the processing or judging of entry materials, the announcement of winnings or in any contest-related materials. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the contest, as solely determined by USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Should any portion of the contest be, in the sole opinion of USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest, compromised by non-authorized human intervention or other causes which corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, USA Pears/Pear Bureau Northwest reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify, or terminate the contest and at its discretion, determine the winners from all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the action taken using the judging procedures specified herein.close
